  • Notes
    • DOB, DOD: Find a Grave

Charles grew up and became a blacksmith, had his own shop and remained near his home for a number of years but finally the silver-mining of Colorado drew on his ambitious character and he sold his shop and went to Colorado, not far from Leadville; wrote home frequently but later some 6 - 7 years he wrote he had disposed of his stock to the government for a large sum and was moving to Missouri, that he had married and they had 3 sons- Years passed, but Reason and Sarah never heard from him and Sarah said "I would hear from Charles if he were living." He had written that he had named his first son "Oscar Hamilton" after Capt. Oscar H. Violett, his cousin Justice S. Violett's son.
