- DOM: Maryland Marriages
The Violett Family in America by Genevieve Potts (Mrs. Perry A.) Dolle 1950 edited and annotated by Martin H. Violette ver. 1.00 2007, pg 78
"We presume Whaley Violett, to have been the son of Ewell Violett, (see page 51). He resided in Fairfax County, Virginia- will probated there in 1798, those who witnessed his will were,
John Violett (was this John of “Welbourne” pg. 52.
William Gilpin (His wife was Sebina Violett pg 51)
James Spellman
Andrew Taylor
Mary Stone (record of Stone family pg [51a crossed out, following numbers handwritten] 73 and 75)"
Pg 63 "Court Order Book- Fairfax County, Va., Oct 1771, pg 298 1770-1772. There is a debt suit against William Culverhouse, in which Margaret Culverhouse states that she holds the estate and Sebina Violett (who married WilliamGilpin, of Montgomery County, Maryland in 1795) says that she holds part of the estate."
I believe there is a possibility that she is the daughter of Ewell and Sibyl Violett, but I have not found conclusive proof to support this connection.
